1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. SHIELD only uses cookies needed for the Site to work, to keep it secure and to remember preferences you choose. We do not use advertising, retargeting, social media tracking or third-party analytics cookies. Because these cookies are strictly necessary to provide the service, no separate consent is requested; preference cookies only store a choice you made.
2. Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
sid | Keeps you signed in after signing in with Discord. JavaScript cannot read it; the server only stores a one-way digest of it. After 7 days you are signed out automatically and need to sign in with Discord again. | 7 days | Necessary |
csrf_token | Prevents forms and actions from being submitted on your behalf from other sites. | Browser session | Necessary |
oauth_state | Confirms that the request returning from Discord belongs to you (protects against forged sign-in links). | 10 minutes | Necessary |
dcode | Binds the 6-digit code from Discord to this browser only; the code cannot be used in another browser. | 10 minutes | Necessary |
lang | Remembers the language you chose (or the one detected from your browser). | 1 year | Preference |

mfa, vfy | Only if the legacy email/password sign-in is enabled: binds the two-step and email verification steps to you. | 5 minutes – 24 hours | Necessary |
3. Browser storage
In addition to cookies, the following are kept in your browser's local storage (localStorage / sessionStorage). This information is not sent to our server:
project-shield-theme(persistent): the colour theme you chose.project-shield-user(deleted when the tab closes): a short summary so your name and avatar appear in the menu immediately when you move between pages. It is not your session itself and is removed when you sign out.project-shield-intro,project-shield-nav,project-shield-lang-redirect(deleted when the tab closes): showing the intro animation once, the page transition bar and preventing language redirect loops.project-shield-shop,project-shield-ticket-unread:*,project-shield-flash(deleted when the tab closes): the cart badge count, the number of unread support messages and a short notice to show on the next page.- Administrators only,
shield:*-updated: telling other open tabs about a change made in the panel.
4. Third-party cookies
Cloudflare Turnstile runs on pages where bot protection is shown; if the Site is served through Cloudflare's network, Cloudflare may set short-lived security cookies such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance to detect bots and attacks. These cookies are subject to Cloudflare's cookie policy and are not used for advertising. When you sign in with Discord you move to Discord's own site, where Discord's cookies apply. Fonts and Discord avatars are relayed through our server, so Google and Discord do not set cookies in your browser.
5. Visit statistics
We measure which pages and products are popular without cookies, as daily totals. To avoid counting the same visit twice, a one-way digest of your account or IP address is created with a key that changes every day and is kept for at most 2 days. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
6. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies you cannot sign in, place orders or use some features. Deleting preference cookies resets the language and currency to the defaults. Clearing browser storage only resets your theme and display preferences.
